Joe Nusbaum - Junior Joe is a third year
high school cross country runner and a two year returning
letterman. Son of Bret and Keri Nusbaum.

As a sophomore, Joe came out showing us that he was a
strong physical runner and a great supporter of his teammates.
Joe often is seen encouraging his teammates to not give up.
Joe should be one of the top fresh/soph runners of our team
this year. Joe earned a medal at the Charleston
Invitational by placing 10th in the open race. He earned
in our all time sophomore list at the Charleston, the East Peoria Invitational,
& U-High Invitational. Joe worked his
way onto the News-Gazette Prep Cross Country Leader list in September
and October. Joe ran a lifetime best of 19:26 which he ran at the
Normal U-High Invitational. Joe was a first year letter winner as
a sophomore. Joe earned the team's sportsmanship award his sophomore
year. As a junior, Joe came into the season stronger and more confident yet. With gaining last year's experience under his belt, he stepped right in where he left off at the top of his game. His discipline and upper body strength will be a great asset to him this year. He is constantly stepping up as a quiet and strong leader of his team. He is often seen taking the initiative to carry the heavy coolers filled with water bottles for his teammates. His character and caring heart are a great asset to the team. Joe earned a medal in the open race at the Charleston Invitational by placing 15th. Joe became sidelined with an injury halfway through the season. Joe made a strong comback and earned a medal at the Olympia Invitational by placing 18th. He earned his way onto the top 10 fastest junior list at the Olympia Invitational. Joe ran a personal best at the U-High Invitational with a time of 19:40. |
