Ryne is a second
year high school cross country runner. Son of Jon and Denise Swenson.
As a sophomre. Ryne came into the season with running over 400 miles in the summer. His training paid off as he ran a lifetime personal best at the first meet of the year with a 19:39 at the Charleston Invitational. Ryne earned a spot in the top 7 runners for the Springfield inviational. Ryne, along with the top 7 led our team to the highest finish in the histroy of our school at that meet (3rd). Ryne came back with a personal best at the Eureka FS Invitational with a time of 19:11. Ryne continued to improve as he ran a 3 mile personal best at the Peoria Notre Dame Invitational with a time of 19:16. Ryne had a very strong run at the U-High Invitational where he ran a lifetime best of 19:08. Ryne earned enough points at the Metamora invitational to earn a varsity letter. Ryne earned his way onto the fastest top 10 sophomore list for the Metamora invitational. Ryne earned his way onto the News-Gazette Prep Cross Country Leaders List in October and November.
