Ryne Swenson - Sophomore Ryne is a second
year high school cross country runner. Son of Jon and Denise Swenson.

As a freshman, Ryne comes to our team with jr. high cross country experience
under his belt. Ryne ran 300 mile the summer before his freshman year.
He has proven himself in practice and in meets to be one of the toughest
kids we have ever had in our program. He is often seen in practice
pushing the upperclassman. He earned his way onto our
team's top 10 fastest freshman list for the East Peoria Invitational and the
Metamora Invitational. He earned his way onto the News-Gazette Prep
Cross Country Leaders List in September and October. Ryne
ran a personal best time of 19:52. As a sophomre. Ryne came into the season with running over 400 miles in the summer. His training paid off as he ran a lifetime personal best at the first meet of the year with a 19:39 at the Charleston Invitational. Ryne earned a spot in the top 7 runners for the Springfield inviational. Ryne, along with the top 7 led our team to the highest finish in the histroy of our school at that meet (3rd). Ryne came back with a personal best at the Eureka FS Invitational with a time of 19:11. Ryne continued to improve as he ran a 3 mile personal best at the Peoria Notre Dame Invitational with a time of 19:16. Ryne had a very strong run at the U-High Invitational where he ran a lifetime best of 19:08. Ryne earned enough points at the Metamora invitational to earn a varsity letter. Ryne earned his way onto the fastest top 10 sophomore list for the Metamora invitational. Ryne earned his way onto the News-Gazette Prep Cross Country Leaders List in October and November. |
