DIRECTIONS to
our RACES
Please double check with your runner to see if the
race location has changed. Schools have been known to change race locations
at the last minute. I would also suggest that you double check these
directions as you may have a quicker route you may want to take that our
bus wouldn’t want to take.
Eastern
Illinois University Pond (Charleston Invitational)
Take I-74 East to Champaign exit (I-57 South). Proceed South
on I-57 South to the Charleston exit (Route 16). Continue East on
Route 16 through Charleston. Turn right (South) on 4th Street.
Take 4th street about 1 1/2 blocks South until you see a parking lot on
your left. The EIU Pond and Regional course is directly South of this
parking lot. Approximate travel time is 1 hour and
10 minutes.
Springfield
Lincoln Park (Springfield Invitational)
Take Route 47 South to I-72. Take I-72 West all the way
to Springfield. Go to I-55 North in Springfield. Stay on I-55
North for about 2 miles. Take Sagamon Avenue West. Stay on Sagamon
Avenue until it ends at a T intersection. Take a left onto 5th street.
Lincoln Park is on 5th street. Approximate travel time is 1 hour and
30 minutes.
Peoria –
Detweiller Park (Peoria Notre Dame Invitational & State)
Take I-74 to Peoria and over the river. Immediately over
the bridge, take Route 24 North (exit #93). Route 24 later turns into
Route 29. Travel along the river approximately 5-6 miles. The
park is on the left and parking is on the right side of the road. Approximate
travel time is 1 hour and 45 minutes.
Illinois
Central College Course (East Peoria Invitational)
Take I-74 West to Route 150 (along the river by the casino).
Take 150 to route 24 East. Take route 24 to the top of the hill and
turn right into Illinois Central College's entrance. Parking is available
at the East Campus Lot. Approximate travel time is 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Maxwell
Park (U-High Invitational)
Take I-74 West to Bloomington exit (Route 51 North). Proceed
North all the way through Bloomington to Normal. Route 51 also becomes
Main Street. You will go through the Illinois State University campus
to Gregory Street. Turn left on Gregory. You will see University High
School on your left. Take Gregory West until you come to a T-road.
Maxwell Park is at the T-road. Approximate travel time is 1 hour.
Metamora
(Metamora Invitational)
Take I-74 West to I-39 (just North of Bloomoington). Take
I-39 North to route 116. Take 116 to Metamora. Go through the
town of Metamora and turn right after the McDonalds. Then turn left
onto Progress Street. Travel 1 block and turn right onto Coal Bank road.
Stay on Coal Bank road for 1/2 mile and you will be at the Black Partridge
Park. The course is at Black Partridge Park. Approximate travel
time is 1 hour and 25 minutes.
Prarie Central
(Conference Meet)
Take 47 North to Forrest. Turn left onto CR 22 East 200 Rd
North. Turn right onto N 2200 Rd E CR 6. The exact address is
7459 N. 2200 East Rd. Approximate travel time is 1 hour.
Lake
Land Community College in Mattoon (Regional)
Take I-74 East to Champaign exit (I-57 South). Proceed South
on I-57 South to exit 184 or the 2nd Mattoon exit (US 45). Take a
left for .8 miles to Lake Land Community College on your right. Take
a right at the Marathon station. Make the first right when you are on
campus and follow the road past the baseball field. The exact address
is 5001 Lake Land Blvd. Approximate travel time is 1 hour.
Hickory
Point Golf Course in Forsyth (Sectional)
Take Route 47 South to I-72. Take I-72 West toward Decatur.
Merge onto US 51 North via Exit 141B toward Bloomington (1.3 miles).
Turn left onto West Weaver Rd (.6 miles). The exact address is
727 West Weaver road. Approximate travel time is 45 minutes.
