As
a freshman, Josh joins our team with
junior high cross country and track
experience. Josh ran the most
miles of anyone on his team the summer
before his freshmen year. He ran
over 500 miles to earn our team's 500
mile club award. He set our
freshman record for the most amount of
summer miles. Josh opened up his
high school career by running a 19:46
at the Charleston Invitational.
He placed 57th in the varsity
race. He ran the 41st fastest
time any freshmen from Mahomet has run
at this race in 13 years. Josh
ran a 20:03 at the Monticello
triangular meet. He placed 33rd
in the meet. Josh had a big
improvement at the Peoria Notre Dame
Invitational. He improved 24
seconds to run a 19:22. He ran
5th on his fresh/soph team to help
them place 15th in the meet. He
showed a lot of courage to break ahead
of runners that beat him last
year. Josh had a 30 second
season best at the East Peoria
Invitational. He ran 4th for his
fresh/soph team helping lead them to a
4th place team finish. Josh
broke into the 18s with an
18:52. He earned enough varsity
letter points after this meet to earn
his first high school varsity
letter. Josh ran strong enough
to earn the 38th spot on our team's
fastest freshmen top times list for
the East Peoria Invitational. Josh
earned a spot on the News-Gazette Prep
Cross Country Leaders List in
October. Josh ran a 19:13 on a
very muddy course at the Metamora
Invitational. He earned the 35th
spot on our team's fastest freshmen
times list at the Metamora
Invitational. Josh ran a 20:42
on the very hilly Conference meet
course. He sprinted in with his
teammate Gabe. Josh earned a
spot on our team's State meet roster
for his freshman year. Josh ran in the
Regional meet. He became one of
the few freshmen in the 49 year
history of our program to run in the
Regional meet. He ran a lifetime
best of 18:49 in a 20 plus mph
wind. He helped our team become
Sectional qualifiers. He earned
the 29th spot on our team's fastest
freshmen at the Regional meet.
Josh ran his lifetime best at the
Sectional meet. He ran a 18:41
to earn a spot on our fastest freshmen
times list for the Sectional
meet. He ran 6th for our team at
the Sectional meet. Josh earned
our team's most consecutive days in a
row 90 day award. As a sophomore, Josh ran enough miles in the summer to earn our 400 mile club award. He showed great improvement from the previous year. He improved 1 minute and 21 seconds from the 2018 Charleston Invite to the 2019 race. He ran a 18:25 for a lifetime personal best. Josh ran in our team's top 7 at the Invite. He earned a medal for his high finish. He also earned a spot on our team's fastest sophomore times list for the Charleston Invitational. He placed so high that he earned a medal. He earned a spot on the News Gazette's prep cross country leaders list in September. Josh ran another strong race for our varsity team at the Springfield Invitational. He ran right at his best time despite it being a challenging course. He ran a 18:32. This earned him the 40th spot on our team's fastest top sophomore times list at the Springfield Invitational. He earned enough points after this meet to earn his 2nd Varsity XC letter. Josh had a major breakthrough at the Peoria Notre Dame Invitational. He broke into the 17s for the first time. He ran a 17:40. This earned him the 38th spot on our team's fastest top sophomore times list at the Peoria Notre Dame Invitational. He helped our fresh/soph team place 16th out of 79 teams represented. He improved 1 minute and 42 seconds from his time at this meet last year. Josh ran a lifetime best at the U-High Invitational. He ran a 17:19 to run 5th for. our team. He helped our team place 2nd in the 13 team invitational. Josh ran a 21 second improvement. He earned the 13th spot on our team's fastest sophomore top times list at the U-High Invitational. Josh ran in the 17s again at the Metamora Invitational. He ran a 17:28. This was a 1 minute and 45 second improvement from his last year's time at this invitational. His time was fast enough to earn him the 29th spot on our team's fastest sophomore top times list at the Metamora Invitational. Josh ran a 18:23 on our very challenging home course at the Conference meet. He improved 2 minutes and 19 seconds from his last year's time at the Conference meet. Josh earned a spot on our. team's State series roster. Josh ran a lifetime best at the Regional meet when the team needed him most. He ran a 17:15 to place 5th for the team. He helped our team qualify for the Sectional meet. He improved 1 minute and 34 seconds from his time last year at the Regional meet. He earned the 30th spot on our team's fastest sophomore time's list at the Regional meet. Josh earned our team's 6 month most consecutive days in a row award. Josh ran a solid time of 17:41 on a very wet Sectional course. His time was fast enough to earn him the 30th spot on our team's fastest sophomore times list at the Sectional meet. He helped his team qualify for State. Josh ran well at State. He helped his team place 11th in the meet. He earned a spot on our team's fastest sophomore top times list at the State meet. He earned our team's most improved fresh/soph runner award at our team's award ceremony. |
