As
a freshman, Grant joined our team
after having run on our junior high
team. His running experience
showed. He opened up his high
school career by running a 20:27 at
the Charleston Invitational.
This was a strong race, but he showed
an even stronger race at the SJO
Spartan Classic. He improved 1
minute and 23 seconds to run a
19:04. This made him our fastest
freshman at that point in the
season. He ran with such
intensity and help push his teammate
Gabe Wisnasky to his personal best as
well. In the process Grant ran
5th for our team and helped our team
win the open race. Grant placed
6th overall in the open race which was
quite a showing for his first season.
Grant had another lifetime best
at the Urbana meet. He broke
into the 18s for the first time with
an 18:54. This was quite an
improvement from his first meet.
Grant showed great intensity by
pulling away from the field with his
teammate in the flight #6 race.
He ended up being runner-up in the
flight #6 race. This shows he is
one tough runner. Grant ran a
20:00 at the conference meet.
Grant and his teammates won the open
race at the conference meet.
Grant ran a 19:25 at the Monticello
Invitational. Grant and his
teammates won the Monticello
