Mark ran in the 1973 and 1974 seasons. Mark was captain of his team his senior year. Mark was the most valuable runner for his team in both 1973 and 1974. Mark holds the 5th highest "Most Dual Meet Wins for a Career" on the IHSA site with 36 wins from 1973-75. He also holds the 2nd highest "Most Dual Meet Wins for a Season" with 18 wins during the 1974 season. He also has the 2nd highest "Most Consecutive Dual Meet Wins in a Career" with 36 from 1973-1975. IHSA Records Mark was All-Regional (top 5) both his junior and senior years. He placed 4th in 1973 and was the meet champion in 1974. Mark was All-Sectional (top 10) both his junior and senior years. He placed 3rd in 1973 and 2nd in 1974. Mark was a two time State qualifier. He qualified for State in 1973 and 1974. Mark was All-State his senior year. He placed 13th in 1974. Peoria
course, which is the state meet course. We
know this course is a
true 3 mile course. Many of our courses are
short or long.
Our school record holder ran for Coach John
King in the early
70's. He ran a time of 14:41.
His record stood for
almost 40 years.
Mark set our school record in the 1600 and 3200 in track. These two records are still some of the best ever in the area 40 years later. Mark ran 4 years at the University of Wisconsin at Stevens Point. He made All-American in cross country his senior year as well as in track. He ran a 4:16 in the mile and 9:05 in the 2 mile in college. |
