2009 Boys Cross Country 6th Annual Teacher Fun Run
 
Mahomet-Seymour has very supportive teachers.  Many of our teachers go out of their way to help our student/athletes on a daily basis.  Our team appreciates the hard work they do and invites them to join us in a fun run.  Our teachers do a great job of running on little training.  Teachers are given the option of either running 1 mile or 3 miles.  Our boys team is divided into equal groups to race against the teachers team.  Directions to the Course & Course Map

2009 Teacher/Parent Team Members
Brian Butcher  Brother of superstar John Butcher.  5th grade student at Lincoln Trail.  Mahomet-Seymour High School boys cross country team official cookie baker.  1st year teacher fun run competitor.

Debbie Butcher Mother of superstar runner John Butcher.  Ran cross country and track for Illinois State University.  She has run the Chicago Marathon three times with a best time of 3:28.  She works part time as a substitute teacher for the Mahomet-Seymour schools.  1st year teacher fun run competitor.

Jeff Butcher Father of superstar runner John Butcher.  Has run a 3:27 marathon at the Chicago Marathon.  1st year teacher fun run competitor.

Rhonda Ehrecke MS High School Special Education teacher.  Previously taught business education at United Township High School in East Moline, IL.  She was also the program's coordinator and a teacher at UT's alternative night school.  Her first race was the Bix (a 7 mile run in Davenport).  She has been running 5ks and completed 4 marathons (Chicago twice, Michigan North Country Trail Run, Hartford, CT, Indianapolis, IN, and Quad Cities twice).  She will be running in the Milwaukee, WI marathon this October.  2nd year teacher fun run competitor.
Gary Garrison Former counselor, social studies teacher, football coach, basketball coach, and track coach for SJO.  Coached 2 State Championship track teams.  Former Illinois State University Track Runner.  Currenly coaches track for Mahomet-Seymour High School.  Trains daily.  2004 Teacher Fun Run award winner for being the fastest former ISU track star.  2005 and 2006 Teacher Fun Run award winner for fastest retired teacher.  2007 Teacher Fun Run award winner for fastest retired teacher to run that far in over 4 decades.  2008 Teacher Fun Run  fastest former SJO coach.  6th year teacher fun run competitor.  

Grant Garrison Kindergarten student.  He has future plans to be a construction worker by day and riverdancer by night.  He ran a race at age 2 to win the goodie bag that was given to kids that raced.  Rarimuri.  He runs like a rocketship.  1st year teacher fun run competitor.

Neal Garrison MS High School Guidance Counselor, Cross Country Coach, Former Track, Softball, and Volleyball Coach.  2004 Teacher Fun Run award winner for being the fastest former volleyball coach.  2005, 2006, 2007, & 2008 Teacher Fun Run fastest counselor award winner.  6th year teacher fun run competitor.  

Eric Potter MS High School Science and Math Teacher, cross country coach, scholastic bowl coach, WYSE team coach , and Math team coach.  He has run triathalons, half marathons and the Chicago Marathon.  2005 Teacher Fun Run award winner for fastest union president.  2006 Teacher Fun Run award winner for the fastest male in the math department.  2007 Teacher Fun run award winner for the fastest math department chair to be the father of 2 additional children in the next two days. 2008 Teacher Fun Run award winner for the fastest teacher with 5 children. 5th year teacher fun run competitor.  

Paul Schaap Area doctor by profession and father of running superstars Jonathan, Matthew, and Hannah Schaap.  Boosters Cross Country representative (along with his wife Lori).  Lifelong runner and area age group superstar.  Most recently will have raced the Wilderness run just 3 days before the teacher fun run and placing 2nd in his division.  1st year teacher fun run competitor.

Adrienne Seal MS Lincoln Trail Teacher.  1st year teacher fun run competitor.

Clairece Seal  3 year old pre school student.  1st year teacher fun run competitor.

Clayton Seal 5 year old pre school student.  Runs like a speed bull. 1st year teacher fun run competitor.

Nathan Seal MS High School Social Studies Teacher and coach of 3 sports (cross country, girls basketball, and boys track).  He always looks a little angry even when happy inside.  He was a former train engineer.  2004 Teacher Fun Run award winner for being the fastest former train engineer.  2005 Teacher Fun Run award winner for fastest girls basketball coach.  2006 Teacher Fun Run award winner for fastest social studies teacher in the 3 mile.  2007 Teacher Fun Run award winner for fastest coach of 3 sports.  2008 Teacher Fun Run fastest social studies teacher award winner.  6th year teacher fun run competitor.  

Brandon Smith MS High School student teacher in health and driver education.  He is also coaching at MS junior high in cross country.  He has been a volunteer coach for the MS boys XC team in 2004.  Brandon ran 1 year of high school cross country and ran in the 16's.  2nd year teacher fun run competitor.

2009 Teacher Fun Run Results       The boys from the XC team were divided into equal teams.  The teachers had a separate team.  The teachers were given the option of running either 1 or 3 miles.  The 1 mile times were added to make a total 3 mile time.  No handicap was given to the teacher/parent team this year.
